PostSubject: Why GendersInX ?   July 19th 2007, 1:50 pm

When I started GendersInX, I had come from a site that talked about Klinefelter's Syndrome to the most intimate detail. This was XXYTalk.com, I was a moderator there. I had chatted with a lot of people there not just about Klinefelter's but about everything.

In that time, I had met a person with Turner's Syndrome and I was intrigued with her attitude and how similar we actually were even though our conditions are very much different. That got me thinking that there must be more conditions that strike a similar chord.

I looked it up in the Internet and found four conditions that have a fragile X in common, meaning the X chromosome. Many of us see ourselves are not only in female or male terms but both, a blend or none. That makes up a lot of different people with commonalities.

So GendersInX was borne.

Although I found myself to be an Intersexed person, this is not an Intersex site, it is a place for us to get to know each other and find our similarities. There are many, too numerous to even cite here.

I hope you discover others and in the midst of it, yourself and how you relate to others or how your child will as well.

After many changes to the GendersInX logo the present one is the final, it only took a year to get it right. My co]admin Kimberly must have slapped her head every time I said "Hmmm, it's just not right."

Well now it's right as the Congenital Gender Ribbon is clearly displayed as it should be. BTW, the Ribbon belongs to everyone, if you would like to put it into your logo of your site or blog, please be my guest. The Ribbon isn't to be hoarded but shared as a symbol or unity and strength. I would be tickled pink if I saw someone wearing that in an unexpected place.

With that in mind, I had the GIX logo to the same store that now houses the Ribbon and came up with a bunch of items that it looks good on. I will be updating both stores as more products become available.

If you would like to check out the stores they are in the following links:

http://www.cafepress.com/gendersinx for the GIX logo with the CGV Ribbon

http://www.cafepress.com/cgvribbon for the Congenital Gender Variation Ribbon

All profits go to the GIX fund that will house and support more Congenital Gender Variation organisations, sites and rallies
